Faculty & Staff: Copyright and Fair Use: Copyright

A guide to copyright rules and regulations specifically for educators. This guide will walk you through the pitfalls of copyright and help you navigate the rules regarding Fair Use.

Copyright laws exist to protect the original creator of a work. Sharing content found online can result in fines. Be sure to check with the original creator of a work for permission to use their content or check to see if the content is shared using a Creative Commons License. Always credit the source of the content used. The infographic on this page was found in Openverse, the search tool for works shared under a creative commons license.
