CCCC Archives & Special Collections: How to Donate Items

How to Donate Items to the Archives

We are always on the lookout for materials connected to CCCC to add to our collections!

Any Library staff member can accept items at the Lee Campus Library's Information Desk. Please do not leave items after hours. All items become the sole property of the CCCC Archives & Special Collections.

Please bring us:

  • albums and scrapbooks
  • photographs and slides
  • brochures, pamphlets, flyers, programs...
  • maps, blueprints, and surveys
  • buttons, pins, badges, decals, ribbons, and stickers
  • oral histories
  • video and sound recordings of campus events, in any format
  • other small artifacts

Unfortunately, due to space and other constraints, we are unable to take:

  • newspapers
  • furniture, office décor, appliances, light fixtures
  • course materials after 1990
  • artwork, including framed art, sculpture, installations, murals
  • microfilm and microfiche unrelated to the history of the college
  • books, journals, magazines (unless written by a faculty member)
  • yearbooks (except departmental yearbooks)
  • sports equipment
  • oversized items
  • student records (these are confidential under FERPA)
  • items that are moldy or severely damaged
  • items that require specialized storage beyond archival housing in a climate-controlled environment
  • weapons, hazardous materials, human remains, taxidermy, illegal substances, anything protected by CITES, stolen items
  • audiovisual equipment and other bulky technology
  • materials of general historic interest unrelated to CCCC
  • items "on loan"
  • items for general storage

If you have questions about whether we can take your items, please do not hesitate to ask!
